Operations
- Taygroup is a member of the Road Haulage Association, and the company plays an active role in the organisation by currently having representation on the RHA’s Eastern and Southern Regional Council.
- The Biggleswade site is protected by trained and qualified guards, all of whom are SIA licence holders.
The ISO:9001 standard has been the vehicle which has underpinned the Company’s quality strategy for many years. This discipline has ensured that our documented procedures are rigorously enforced. These include such things as:
- Self-audit and appraisal
- Standard Operating Procedures for every activity performed
- Transparent reporting of all non-conformances identified
- Supplier audit and evaluation
- Customer satisfaction questionnaires
- Management Reviews
- British Retail Consortium – Global Standard Regarded as the benchmark for best practice in the food industry, Taygroup have recently achieved the BRC’s standard for Storage and Distribution. This allows our customers, - and potential customers, a framework for which to base their supplier assessment program on, secure in the knowledge that the accolade is the highest in the industry.
- Taygroup satisfy the requirements of HM Excise & Revenue, in accordance with storing product in a Bonded Warehouse facility
- Taygroup is a member of the Federation Against Copyright Theft (FACT) and is accredited for Transport and Logistics in their Business category.
- Taygroup is the holder of a licence issued by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA). This implies that strict guidelines and criteria have been met with regard to the storage and distribution of specified pharmaceutical product
- Taygroup is an Environment Agency registered waste carrier, compliant with the Control of Pollution (Amendment) Act 1989
Environment
- Taygroup are committed to reducing harmful effects created by any of its activities. In accordance with this, we measure our impact on the environment and set ourselves objectives for improvement.
- Taygroup were one of the founder members of the Envirowise sponsored Hertfordshire Resource Efficiency Club.
- Taygroup has achieved ISO:14001 and also aspires to the United Nation’s Global Compact Principle No.8.
Safety
- Safety within Taygroup takes precedent over everything that we do. A formatted Health & Safety Management System ensures compliance with all statutory regulations, and is enforced by all our Directors.
- All training and procedures have been devised as a consequence of staff consultation, compiled by a Group Safety Manager who is an active member of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM)
- All Taygroup’s drivers adhere to the standards devised by the Department of Transport’s “Safe and Fuel Efficient Driving” programme (SAFED)
- Taygroup take safety seriously, and is represented on a local RoSPA affiliated safety group.
